We're all in on littleBits and we think that you should be, too. Now, this isn't exactly news as littleBits has taken STEAM education and productive play by storm since its release back in 2011. What started as a simple set of modern-day toys for tinkering has ballooned into a must-have teaching tool and a dynamic way to illustrate real-world concepts in early education. The littleBits kits continue to evolve and offer a truly progressive way to learn. Starting extremely simple with basic electronics projects, littleBits helps kids of all ages work up to becoming master engineers and even coders!

With over 15 specialized kits, littleBits is transforming STEAM education in all grade levels. They feature a progressive approach to hands-on learning, making, and engineering, and encourage kids to creatively explore millions of inventions. Their secret? Snap-together magnets allow for endless innovation and color-coded components make it super simple for even the youngest of students to understand. Using littleBits, kids can start small and grow into innovative inventors and truly Future Ready coders.

Every module in the littleBits library works with every other component, allowing for millions of unique combinations among the pieces in their growing library, which currently features over 70 modules. The low-end kits feature basic modules, including inputs, outputs, and power, which are color-coded to make it extra easy for kids to learn which blocks are which and, more importantly, how to order them to create a circuit that functions. They'll start to see that they need an input block to create an output and need a power block to give energy to the input.

Back in 2011, littleBits was launched by Ayah Bdeir when she formualted the idea of building blocks that beep, buzz, blink, and teach kids authentic skills. In just a few years, littleBits has taken off and evolved into a world-renowed company with well over a dozen STEAM kits and prestigious awards under their belt. Their success is rooted in their commitment to STEAM (not just STEM) as well as an all-inclusive, creativity-boosting product that gets everybody innovating, building, and inventing new and increasingly unique devices.

Recently, they partnered with Star Wars to release the Droid Inventor Kit, which is designed to engage kids in inventing with a fun and friendly robot kit. They also have a very popular Code Kit, their STEAM Student Set, Hardware Development Kit, Gizmos & Gadgets kits, Synth Kit, and Space Kit among others. Many of these, including the Code Kit and STEAM Student Set, are also available in classroom sizes (for 18, 24, or 30 students) since, after all, littleBits are intended for classroom use as well as facilitating collaborative exploration.

Basically, there's something for teachers and students in any sized school, classroom, makerspace, or library. They enbale the invention opportunities that creative kids crave and empower students to unleash their full potential. As partners, we really can't say enough good things about this company -- from their ingenious approach to STEAM to their true display of partnership. And, it doesn't hurt that their product is so good! To learn more about these tried-and-true STEAM tools and how you can create long-lasting learning with any of the littleBits kits, click here!
