Get to Know:

In Volume 1 of the Love to Code book, Fern the Frog explains these “sometimes hard, but fun” concepts of coding. Students get to master some of the basics of electronics and coding with the help of Fern’s friend, Sami the Seal. They'll start with turning on an LED, then learn to make it blink as their projects will become interactive after learning about circuit switches, variables, and conditionals.

They will wrap up with learning how to create more aesthetically pleasing light-fading effects using loops and multi-threading. There is even a comprehensive appendix on debugging which will help students develop the skills to evaluate, find, and fix problems in their projects.

Getting started with code is fast and easy thanks to an easy-to-use, web-only environment that requires no software to install or drivers to configure. Code is uploaded to the Chibi Chip via the common headphone jack. If you can stream music off the web, you’ve already got everything that you'll need. You can also confirm your browser’s compatibility at any time.
