STEM Sports - Football Kit
The STEM Football curriculum is designed to pair strategic STEM-based activities with professional football history and current hot topics. STEM Football gives students the opportunity to get behind the sport they love with lessons centered around the scientific differences between football materials, in-game communication, understanding the importance of football helmet’s at the cellular level, the innovation and technology of gloves that receivers and defensive backs wear, and much, much more. Each educational football activity the students engage in has a direct lesson in the curriculum to take their curiosity and understanding deeper.

STEM Sports uses visual, auditory and kinesthetic methods of teaching throughout this and all of our supplemental curricula and there is no holding back the intentional learning opportunities provided on the gridiron and in the classroom during the sequence of these lessons.
We touch on many facets of the game from an historical perspective as well as tackle current subjects and hot topics. Students will experience forward progress during STEM Football’s eight lesson program with modules such as:
- Gaining the understanding of energy and motion differences between a youth football and a foam football
- Exploring how in-game communication technology enables success for NFL teams
- Learning about the nervous system and the importance of helmet engineering
- Graphing successful pass completions using data related to the use of receiver’s gloves
Use STEM Football to kickoff great new methods of learning using the game as a real-life application to drive STEM literacy in classrooms, after-school programs, and camps.
