Have you ever wanted to make your Play Doh creations light up and produce sounds? With the DIY Electro Dough Kit from Technology Will Save Us, students could do all that and more! Picture being able to shape and create whatever your imagination desires and bringing it to life by incorporating interactive circuits. The Electro Dough Kit helps children learn how to place LEDs or buzzers within the path of an electrical current. Then, they can have it flash a light or make a noise when it connects!

Included are its battery holder, buzzer, LEDs, crocodile clips, jumper wires, cookie cutters and tilt switches, allowing for endless experimentation. This kit is truly DIY and it provides instructions on how to make your own conductive dough from scratch. There is also guidance for adding in your electricity. But don't worry, if you don't have some of the household ingredients, you can just use Play Doh!

I experimented with the Electro Dough, LEDs, and buzzer to make our Eduporium logo light up and buzz. I was also reminded of basic circuitry concepts, such as the need for an electrical current to flow through an unhindered path and how to use a tilt switch to disrupt the current's flow. Additionally, the kit is especially helpful when illustrating to kids the difference between parallel and series circuits. I experimented with both and got a bit of a refresher course myself!

With the DIY Electro Dough Kit, children ages 4 and up can make their dough sculptures and scenes come alive with interactive LEDs or buzzers while they build strong hands-on learning skills. Engage in STEAM by mixing work with play and shape electronics skills earlier than ever!
