Overview: It’s been well reported in that last few weeks that Microsoft would release it’s suite of apps for the iPad. Now they are all available to the masses. Some critiques are hailing them as the final key the iPad needed to be considered a true content creation device, which according the some drives the final death nail in Microsoft’s own tablet the surface. Does that mean they are absolutely perfect? This week we shall take a look at the Pros & Cons of Microsoft PowerPoint for iPad.

As with Word, and Excel, PowerPoint requires an Office 365 subscription of $99.00 annually. Microsoft says this gives you up to date versions of Office for up to 5 PCs or Macs and 5 mobile devices, also an additional 20 GB of OneDrive cloud storage, and Skype world minutes (where available) As with the other Microsoft apps PowerPoint offers a familiar experience that users should find easy to use.

Pros:

·      When you edit documents, your content and formatting are maintained across all your devices. You can start work on one device and finish it on another.

·      When you’re done you can share your presentation by emailing a hyperlink or the entire presentation.

Cons:

·      You can open doc PowerPoint but not save

·      Some users say the app takes up to much data on their device

·      Doesn’t allow you to insert photos from one drive files

·      User complain that the $99.99 subscription is too expensive

Conclusion: Microsoft PowerPoint is finally on the iPad bringing most of its wonderful features to this touch sensitive platform. It does however come at a price that some say is too much for too little. Most agree its several steps in the right direction though and in time should get even closer to perfection as Microsoft rolls out the updates.
