The line of Dobot STEAM solutions helps teachers create unique STEM opportunities for today's sets of students. Consisting of robot arms, AI kits, and other intriguing accessories, these technologies each help inject even more real-world relevance and rigor into high school CTE and STEM programs. Most notably, the Dobot Magician kits help educators expose students to some functions and the importance of robotic arms. With high-quality materials, incredible accuracy, simple implementation in educational settings, and plenty of other benefits, the Dobot software and hardware can truly breathe new levels of excitement into hands-on learning. Check out each of the seven Dobot tech solutions that are now part of our offerings!

Dobot Magician—Educational Model

First, we have the educational version of the Dobot Magician robotic arm. Students can both learn to use the Dobot Magician and how tools like robot arms help make work easier in our up-and-coming industries. This Dobot kit comes with your robot arm, the vacuum pump kit, a gripper, a writing and drawing kit, a 3D printing kit, a laser engraving kit, and other pieces. Thanks to the Magician's high-strength aluminum alloy surface, students can use it for writing, drawing, grabbing objects, and more. Plus, they could control it in various ways, including with voice, gestures, and both a desktop and a mobile app.

Dobot Magician—Basic Model

The Basic Model looks similar to the Educational Model and it's actually the second generation of the Dobot robot arms. It's also capable of drawing, grabbing, laser engraving, and 3D printing using equally powerful repeatability as high as 0.2 millimeters. You'll find plenty of explanations in the Dobot Magician manual but, with this programmable robotic arm, students can control all its movements using the same methods as the Educational Model. It also has a high-accuracy gear reducer and allows for visual, drag-and-drop programming from right within the Dobot software.

Dobot Magician Lite

Next, we have the Dobot Magician Lite, which is more affordable and, arguably, more versatile in school STEM programs. The Dobot team incorporated various education-specific upgrades to the Magician Lite, including improved hardware and software interaction and AI connections. These features certainly provide students with more freedom to create as they explore some of the most relevant real-world applications of robotics and AI. They can design, create, and program their robots using the Magician Lite while focusing on experiential learning or project-based learning. The kit also includes a pen holder, suction cup, and soft gripper as well as a Magic Box for learning more about algorithms and even key STEM skills like coding.

Dobot AI Kit

Next, there's the Dobot AI Kit, which is another programmable robotic arm with AI capabilities. The Dobot AI suite houses the LED indicator, joystick, voice recognition, and visual recognition modules. It even helps students explore machine intelligence as well as human-machine interactions. Kids could control the lights on the Dobot Magician, for example, using either the button, joystick, or their voice. The kit includes those new voice and visual recognition modules as well as teaching demos and a step-by-step curriculum. With the AI Kit, students can truly dive in to open-source culture and gain an understanding of how AI works.

Magician Lite AI Teaching Kit

Now, let's explore some Dobot accessories, starting with the Magician Lite AI Teaching Kit since we are on the topic. With the AI Teaching Kit, teachers can build a life-based AI solution and, in combination with the Magician Lite system, create authentic AI scenarios, activities, and expose kids to prototyping. This kit includes access to Dobot training and its robust AI system is capable of character recognition, automated garbage classification, automated restocking, speech recognition, and facial recognition. With many ways to extend AI education, it makes a truly great add-on to teaching with the Dobot robot arms.

Linear Sliding Rail

The Dobot Sliding Rail works with the Dobot Magician and certainly helps students simplify complicated workflows. They can use it in anything from organizing objects to writing longer letters and the Sliding Rail helps make both AI and machine learning more approachable. Students can program the Sliding Rail with graphical coding and attach it to the robot arm. They can also expand the distance their Dobot Magician covers while moving along the rail and writing, drawing, or grabbing. The Sliding Rail also helps students explore robots and automation and expand their thoughts on using it in future careers.

Dobot Conveyor Belt

Finally, the last of the Dobot items is the Dobot Conveyor Belt. It also works with the Dobot Magician and allows students to simulate production line experiences. The Conveyor Belt has speed, distance, and color sensors, which helps it create high-quality, simulated experiences that students can explore as part of their work-based learning or even in their classes. It's pretty similar to the Sliding Rail and, like a few of the other Dobot solutions, it's programmable as well. Students can specify their inputs using the Dobot software and program the robot arm to recognize, reach for, and place certain objects on the belt to simulate automation and create true connections to today's industries and jobs that kids may want to explore going forward.
