I want to dedicate this post to the math program, ALEKS that I am using at the summer program I’m currently working for. It stands for Assessment and LEarning in Knowledge Space. ALEKS is an assessment and learning system that is completely Web-based.

It uses effective questioning to gauge a student’s skills and accurately tells me what they’ve mastered, what they haven’t mastered, and what they’re ready to learn next.

I’m able to see individual data and whole class data to plan, teach, and re-teach topics. Students are able to track their progress and see their growth. ALEKS has been nothing but helpful in the four weeks I’ve been using it, and I have yet to come across math software that is as beneficial as ALEKS.
