The BOLT is an app-enabled robotic ball that provides endless opportunities to be creative and have fun while learning. Kids can program with the Sphero Edu app from mobile or desktop devices, discover awesome community-created activities, or just play. The main difference between the BOLT and previous models is the built-in, 8x8 LED Matrix that displays real-time, animated data. Students could create and customize games while learning to code by drawing on their device's screen, using Scratch blocks, or writing JavaScript text programs.
Among Sphero's other classroom- and budget-friendly options are their Cheaper by the Dozen and Half Dozen kits. As the names imply, the Cheaper by the Dozen Kit comes with 12 Sphero SPRK+ Robots and the Half Dozen Kit comes with six of them.
