There aren't many educational STEAM solutions quite like the line of Bare Conductive products. One of our original partners, their conductive paints and innovation-enabling accessories have helped empower tons of students and makers as they explore the worlds of DIY crafts, purposeful construction, repurposing, and even recycling. Since the premise of conductive paint is so simple (using paint as a source of transferring electricity between two places and creating enjoyable art in the process), it should come as no surprise that it remains one of the top makerspace tools among creative educators. As we close the book on 2021, some of the Bare Conductive products, however, will soon be retired. While it's sad to see them go, we're happy to continue offering others to the STEAM and maker communities.

Interactive Workshop Pack

As we said, the conductive paint is the main component of the Bare Conductive offerings. As you might suspect, however, students need other materials in order to maximize it. Their top offering on our store at the moment is the Bare Conductive Interactive Workshop Pack. Serving as a class-wide solution, the Interactive Workshop Pack contains many of the top Bare Conductive materials, which students can use in a huge variety of creative makerspace projects. Among the components are the Bare Conductive Touch Boards, Electric Paint jars, Electric Paint tubes, printed sensors, instrument sensors, USB hubs, mini speakers, microSD cards, microSD card readers, and more. Interactive Wall Kit

Next, we have the Bare Conductive Interactive Wall Kit. If you know anything about the Conductive Paint, the name of this offering alone may pique your interest. With traditional Bare Conductive projects, students can design interactive artwork and innovative models. Thanks to the components that come in the Wall Kit, however, they can add another all-new dimension: designing and installing interactive wall murals. In addition to the electronics components, the Wall Kit also comes with electrode pads, fixing screws, shielded cables, and cable management clips. Essentially, students can turn their classroom or makerspace walls into appealing visuals and audio as they transform the surface into an interactive art project.

Bare Conductive 1L Electric Paint

While the Bare Conductive accessories are great, especially for seasoned makers, they're nothing without the actual paint. Just like you'd get when buying traditional (non-interactive, less exciting) paint, the Electric Paint comes in a couple of different options, including this 1-liter jar. The Bare Conductive Electric Paint is 100 percent non-toxic and works like any other water-based paint except for its conductivity. Students can simply dip their paint brush in the jar and then paint interactive sensors on almost any material. Since one liter is a lot, it's perfect for larger scale projects, including those with the Wall Kit. Best of all, the paint air dries and serves as a conductive adhesive.

Bare Conductive Touch Board Pro Kit

In addition to the Electric Paint itself, another extremely popular Bare Conductive tool is the Touch Board. This tiny computer board resembles an Arduino and enables students to explore prototyping as they create more interactive projects. The kit comes with Electric Paint, printed sensors, copper tape, and a USB cable among others. Using these components together, students can transform their conductive paintings into interactive works of art. They can also design projects like talking murals and audible instruments as they combine pre-printed sensors and electrically conductive paint. When the paint connects with a sensor, it triggers that interactive element in a totally unique way!

Bare Conductive Touch Board Starter Kit

There's also the Touch Board Starter Kit, which is a bit more scaled back. Though it's not as in-depth as the Pro Kit, students can still use the components to build three programmable projects. Essentially, they can turn almost any surface into an interactive sensor. With the included Touch Board and Electric Paint, they can then harness that electricity and create interactive projects. Simply by deciding on designs and painting their circuits, it's easy for student makers to keep incorporating those interactive electronic elements in projects that are large or small. Single Bare Conductive Products and Accessories

That about does it for the more robust kits but you can find individual options for electronic art materials also. Among our offerings for interactive maker education, you'll find the single Bare Conductive Touch Board, the Electric Paint Lamp Kit, the 50 ml Electric Paint Jar, and the 10 ml Electric Paint Pen. As you might expect, the Touch Board is simply the Touch Board hardware with no additional accessories. Similarly, the Paint Jar and the Paint Pen simply come with the corresponding amount of paint in your preferred storage system. As for the Lamp Kit, students can use these materials to build a touch-activated lamp with Electric Paint as the trigger.

For any educators in the market for some simplistic STEAM tools, we'd definitely recommend exploring the Bare Conductive kits. They're perfect for both low-key makerspace or art projects and, as we've said, for norm-challenging, large-scale, and decorative works of art as well. You can find all of our current offerings within the Bare Conductive section of our store. If you have any questions for our team, please feel free to reach out to us anytime.
