Wonder Workshop has added a new option for programming with the Cue Robot—the Blaster Power accessory! This simple, motorized system attaches to the robot and can be programmed to launch soft darts. It's designed exclusively for use with the Cue Robot and allows students to try something new while coding. Now, they can create typed code that gets the Cue to launch the foam projectiles and unlock many new elements to learning with robotics!

The Blaster Power accessory isn't just all fun and games, either. Along with the darts, it comes with project cards and educational activities and challenges. Students can bolster their programming skills using one of the compatible Wonder Workshop apps and take aim at the included target cards as well. The launcher can actually shoot the foam darts pretty far—something that students are probably going to enjoy. Plus, it attaches really easily and get kids collaborating from the get-go!

This is just the latest addition to Wonder Workshop’s engaging line of educational accessories. We also offer the Gripper Building Kit, which works with the Cue and Dash, the Sketch Pack, and the Sketch Kit, which both work with the Cue. Using the Gripper Kit, students can engineer simple machines out of plastic parts and then attach them to either the Dash or Cue. They can create programs on their device that activate the Gripper and get the robot to do things like carry, pull, pick up, and place any lightweight object!

The Sketch Pack and Sketch Kit can each be used with both the Dash and Cue. These kits also allow students to extend the capabilities of their robots by incorporating some real-life STEAM. There is an attachment that fastens to the robot and a hole they can insert a special marker inside. Once in there, they can create programs and upload them to the robot. Only now, instead of just moving around, the Dash or Cue will draw what they’ve programmed!

These two kits work best with Wonder Workshop’s custom dry-erase markers. The Sketch Kit comes with a marker harness, six of the custom markers, and six project cards. The Sketch Pack comes with those three components as well as a whiteboard mat and eraser. The Sketch Kit is best when used with the whiteboard mat, but can still be used in education without it. However students use these accessories, they’ll be able to imagine, create, code, and draw in a way that’s very engaging and beneficial to them.

The accessories for the Cue are great to incorporate in robotics and coding instruction to provide students with an added element to their learning. If you still need a Cue Robot to use along with these accessories, we have those on our store as well in single units, three-packs, 12-packs, and more!
