The meeperBOT is a portable, mobile and intuitive robot that kids can use to learn the basic concepts of programming and robotic behavior. All you have to do to get started is make sure there’s a 9V battery in the battery compartment of the meeperBOT and flick the switch on the bottom (the blue light should start flashing). You’ll also want to make sure the Bluetooth function on your phone or tablet is turned on and that you’ve downloaded the meeperBOTS app. Launch the app and select your bot; click ‘Connect’ to pair your device with the meeperBOT then click the icon one more time (it should be labeled as ‘meeperBOT 2) and you can make your meeperBOT move by pressing the arrows on the screen!
I built a simple maze for my meeperBOT to navigate, but with access to additional space, students can make it much more challenging and fun! The simplicity of the app makes the meeperBOT exceptionally easy to use and I’m sure kids will have it roaming the room (and the halls) in no time! It’s pretty fast, but also precise and durable, supporting STEM learning for as long as you’d like!
