For all those STEAM teachers, we have something new and exciting for you. We’re excited to let you know that we’ve finalized the addition of UBTECH Education's hands-on robotics kits to our store and they are now available for purchase! There are four main kits—all of which help teachers in their journey of transforming STEM education.

The four kit options (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and the JIMU Maker KIT) all expose students to real-world problem solving using STEM tools and include hundreds of pieces that allow them to construct all kinds of robotic models—plus, they’re on sale for the next few days with HUGE savings! The UBTECH robotics kits are awesome and teachers can use them to impact both STEM growth and development!

As a company, the UBTECH Education team is very passionate about leveraging the power of robotics to ease everyday life. They’ve even made it sort of a mission to try to put a robot in every home and business and are exploring ways in which to use them to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re big fans of this ‘thinking big’ mindset and, since they've also created robotics kits for STEM education, we knew they had to be good.

Like we said, we’re now excited to offer the UBTECH robotics kits on our store: The UKIT Beginner, the UKIT Intermediate, the UKIT Advanced, and the JIMU Maker KIT. The Beginner Kit is for students as young as third grade. And, the Advanced Kit is viable all the way up through high school with the Intermediate Kit designed for middle schoolers. Each kit is available as part of a bundle (eight kits) and include an Arduino control box, which students use to power the inventions they build. They can use the free UBTECH Edu app (iOS and Android) to program inventions built using the pieces from in the Beginner and Intermediate kits and the UBTECH uCode software (Windows or Mac) to program inventions built with the Advanced Kit!

The Beginner Kit comes with 368 total pieces and 13 project ideas for students. The pieces included in this kit are the Arduino control box, a rechargeable battery, connecting cables, four digital servo motors, and a storage bin. Using the UBTECH Edu app, students can build their creations in an immersive 3D environment and then bring them to life with two coding options to choose from: Blockly or Pose-Record-Play. Plus, the digital curriculum is project-based and aligns to NGSS standards. It’s available for educators as a download and it is also printable, offering about 15 hours of curriculum per grade level.

The Intermediate Kit, as you might expect, comes with a bit more in the box. Among the materials included are 537 total pieces, the Arduino control box, the rechargeable battery, four digital servo motors, a touch sensor, an infrared sensor, a Bluetooth speaker, two LED modules, and a storage bin. Of course, there are some new additions with this kit (as well as 15 pre-designed models for construction), allowing students to do even more with their Blockly code or Pose-Record-Play programs. Models students build with the pieces from this kit are programmable using the UBTECH Edu app.

Then, we have the Advanced Kit, which is just that—advanced. It features many of the same components as the other kits, including the Arduino processor, rechargeable battery, digital servo motors (though there are 16), Bluetooth module, connecting cables, and storage bin. In addition to those, it comes with breadboards and resistors, a grayscale sensor, an ultrasonic sensor, a pressure and touch sensor, and two LED modules. In addition to the added parts, the inventions students build with these components are programmable using the UBTECH uCode software. This software is desktop-based and available on Windows or Mac machines. Since it is a more advanced kit, the engineering, AI, and circuitry lessons feature the chance for students to code using Blockly, Python, C, C++, and Scratch!

Then, we have the JIMU Maker KIT, which features some of UBTECH’s best robotics kits. They’ve created different robotics kits and this bundle includes five of their best: The ChampBot, FireBot, UnicornBot, Overdrive Kit, and Cosmos Kit. Basically, the kit includes illustrated instructions and diagrams students can use as they build these highly unique and fun robotic machines! Like the other kits, each of these contain a few hundred pieces as well as the motors and sensors relevant to the projects included with each. Students are able to learn a lot about electronics, circuitry, engineering, and coding with the addition of this all-encompassing robotics kit on top of the three others!

The UBTECH team has also created a corresponding curriculum for use with the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced kits. Each (Beginner Curriculum, Intermediate Curriculum, and Advanced Curriculum) make a great complementary addition to teaching and learning with the UBTECH kits. The curricula embody a 5E lesson structure (engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate) and include NGSS-aligned units with lessons on some of the most relevant and engaging topics in science. The activities help highlight how STEM disciplines are largely interconnected as they're practiced in the real world. By building and programming real robots with UBTECH's UKITs and their custom UBTECH Edu app, students get a hands-on way to bring NGSS concepts to life.

Now through the end of September, the UBTECH bundles are also on sale. Educators can get the BeginnerIntermediate, and Advanced Bundles with huge savings on our store through Sept. 30! In addition to that, the ChampBot Bundle is also on sale through Sept. 30 with savings near 50 percent!
