As we have been promoting over the last couple of weeks, one member of the Eduporium team is currently on a country-wide road trip to see some of the best sites in the United States. Thanks to our partners at Merge VR, he has also brought with him 10 Merge Cubes to donate to some of the educators who have applied for our EdTech grant!
On Monday, I am beginning a 74-day road trip that will take me all through some of the most amazing places in the United States and also enable me to visit some of the hardworking teachers who are working to mold today’s students. Though the idea for a road trip didn’t initially involve teachers (or really even Eduporium), I’m extremely excited with how it evolved.
Teaching coding and robotics in elementary school just got a great boost! With more convenient and robust Wonder Workshop bundles, STEM educators can teach programming more easily than ever! Heather Russell is a STEAM teacher from Ecoff Elementary in the Chesterfield (VA) County Public Schools. One of the most exciting robots for teaching coding in elementary and middle school, the Root is now available in class packs! Educators can more easily bring Root into their classrooms thanks to the additions of classroom packs in sizes of 2, 6, 12, and 30! Root helps teachers cover key CS concepts, like touch interaction, drawing, loops, and more.
We had a blast attending this year’s ISTE Conference in Philadelphia. It was a great couple of days and we truly enjoyed getting to catch up with a lot of our vendor and educator partners. The topics on everyone’s minds ranged from AI in education to creating more agency in professional learning with keynotes aimed at inspiring educators.
The recipient of our $500 EdTech grant for the month of June is Jean Daley, a librarian from the Erving Public Library in Erving, MA! Jean is committed to helping the kids in her community learn more about and with technology and will now be able to introduce them to coding and learning in new ways!
