As the school year takes shape, we've extended the deadline of our grant opportunity for educators in New York State. Thanks to our partners from the DREAM Consortium, we're offering grants for educators to better address social-emotional learning and general learning loss this school year. Of course, the pandemic and remote learning era have greatly affected countless numbers of students. With support from the DREAM team, we're excited to be able to pass these opportunities along. If you're an educator located in New York State, you're eligible to apply. Plus, if you've seen how the pandemic's impacted kids both academically and emotionally, this could help begin reversing those effects.

In offering these grant opportunities, we're looking for educators who have creative ideas for addressing these deficiencies. Whether your primary focus is on helping students overcome learning loss or boosting their social-emotional health, this award is designed to help teachers reclaim normalcy starting in the next few months. We're also looking for educators who can provide a concise instructional plan for how they would use these STEAM tools if selected as a grant recipient. If selected, recipients may spend their $1,000 award on any of the STEM and makerspace tools from the Eduporium store. We're also happy to consult with the awardees to create a targeted product list that aligns with your educational goals.

The grant application remains open and has been extended, so any NYS educators can feel free to apply. It will remain open until its new deadline of Oct. 31, 2021. When applying, you may want to write our your answers in a separate document and copy and paste them into the fields once you've finalized everything. This can help avoid lost work in the event of a technical error. Once the application window closes, both the Eduporium and DREAM Consortium teams will collaboratively review applications. After reviewing each one, we will make a determination of the two recipients who best match the criteria for these grant opportunities. Recipients will then have time to decide on the STEAM tools from our store they would like to request.

We are planning to announce the two recipients at this year's Annual NYSCATE Conference in November and contact the recipients directly. In terms of eligibility, any school administrator, classroom teacher, librarian, and instructional technology professional may apply. Also, if you're looking for additional EdTech grant opportunities, we continue to offer our $500 monthly Eduporium grant. You can find all the information for that award and the application on the Eduporium grant page. If you have any questions about the Eduporium NYS grant, please feel free to contact our team.
